Applying Webb's Depth of Knowledge
Remember that Webb's Depth of Knowledge stuff? Well, now's your chance to use it! I know you can barely contain yourselves at the thought! Do all of the activities as a group.
1. Go to the Common Core Explorer website. This website is full of technology resources aligned to the Common Core Standards for Math and ELA.
2. Click on "Mathematics" in the middle of the page.
3. Choose a grade level. High School is broken down by strand, not by grade level.
4. Pick a strand. Most grade levels have the following strands available:
The Number System Expressions And Equations Functions Geometry Statistics And Probability
5. Choose a standard from the list and click on the arrow on the far right of that particular standard.

6. A list of web tools should appear below the standard.
7. Using Webb's DOK, design a lesson or mini-unit using the resources from Station #2 along with a web tool (or tools) from the list below the standard you chose. (You can also choose to modify an existing unit that you already do in your classroom.) Include the following:
a. Write learning targets or objectives for the lesson from the learning target (unpack it). Go beyond Bloom's and use Webb's DOK to write them. Remember to go beyond WHAT students have to learn and go to the HOW of student learning.
b. Create an assessment for the learning targets. Again, use Webb's DOK to create an assessment with "stretch." This means it contains tasks from all levels of Webb's DOK. Questions and tasks on the assessment should be what student mastery "looks like."
c. Briefly describe the learning activities students will do in order to master the learning targets/objectives and demonstrate mastery on the assessment.
8. Find another group and share your mini-unit and provide feedback regarding how well Webb's DOK is applies as well as how well the technology is integrated into the lesson.
